Having given up documentary

to document actors, it was almost inevitable

that the director would cut himself from the script entirely.

The foggy mountain home

never materialised.

Instead, the rain keeps falling,

the un-chopped wood is still part

of a heart-breaking forest.

The morning had been as clear and defined as ice

when he left with the work completed, the bottle emptied,

and all the day to come.
